this is the video i learned off, she does 5 lessons and by the end of them you'll know what youre doing

i love crocheting, i make all kinds of things, hats, blankets, cardigans, trousers, love it, so much easier than knitting, so much quicker, and so much easier to fix if you mess up x
Sorry to keep quoting and replying lol. I used Bethintx too, she was the slowest and best I found to follow.

Ooooo, meee!! I crochet!! I love it! I started around 7 years old when I found an old pamphlet along with some yarn and hooks in my grandma's basement. I'd made a granny square before Granny even realized I'd found that stuff!

Ravlery is awesome. I'm just as addicted to that site as I am this one. Between the two, it's a miracle DH gets any time with me.

The right yarn for your project and the correct size hook are all you need to begin. Check out Lion Brand yarns website. They have TONS of free projects and they tell you Exactly what kind of yarn and hook would be best for each one.

Have you ever crocheted before? A basic blanket should be pretty easy to start with - you can find directions for all the stitches (including videos) online. To be honest, I taught myself with the Klutz book about Crochet. It's meant for kids but it really breaks it down for you.

You'll get the hang of it quickly! I taught myself with that kids book in January '10. There's pretty much not anything I can't figure out now! LOVE it!
