Making a blind?

Hi,

I've been on the hunt for a blackout blind for my nursery for ages, and I just can't find anything I like. I can find plain blinds that fit my window (from argos, pretty cheap) but can't find anything I like with a design on it, that's a reasonable price. And I really wanted something with a design on it.

I'm looking for advice - how easy would it be to make my own / adapt the one I can get from argos? I'm not exactly super-crafty, but I do have a sewing machine, with basic knowledge of how to use it.

I did think about getting transfers, but I thought that would probably melt the blackout lining. Could I attach another fabric to the blind as it is, to give it the design?

Any thoughts very welcome! thank you so much xx
