Hi CCClomidQueen

I have had a laparoscopy but it was because I had an ectopic pregnancy. If it helps they don't hurt and the scars a minimal. I'm off to see a consultant on 15th April and i'm pretty sue i'll be getting referred for this to find out if my remaining tube works as my surgeon told me she didn't think it would.

Could I ask, how long after you had you meeting with your consultant did it take for you to get this appointment? Or once your consultant said s/he wanted you to have the lap, how long did it take to get the date through?

I have already had a couple of sets of blood tests which were both fine. I have had an internal scan which has also showed I ovulated and everything looks normal. My partner is having the Sperm thing done on Tuesday which we know will be normal.

We know the problem is with me and my tube.

Hi MischC,
After 3 failed IUI's my RE suggested I go through with a Lap. I'm curious what she'll find, I'v been told I might have scarring from a ruptured appendix years ago, before they did lap procedures. I scheduled my appointment a month out, but if my schedule was more flexable I could have had the surgery sooner. Did you have a dye test done to see if your other tube is working? I wonder if this is what they'll suggest.

CCC - No they didn't do a dye test on my left tube. When my surgeon removed my right tube she took pictures of my left tube and showed me what it looked like. It was stuck flat to my womb so I can't see how it'll work. She did say to that if I was to fall pregnant it would almost certainly be ectopic again.

It's taken me 3 months to get my initial appointment with a consultant so I was curious on the time scale of getting the next appointment.

Wow 3 months seems like such a long time. I have a feeling I will have babd scarring from my appendectomy years ago. my scar is huge.

Kelstar,

I was so... scared! I had my Lap on Thursday it wasn't so bad, just really sore the day after in the lower abdomen, but much better each day that goes by. I am really glad I did this. the doctor found scarring where I had my appendix out and my ovary stuck to bowel and surprisingly my left side opposite of appendix was worse, I had severe adhesions and hidden ovary(I never had a injury to that side so its puzzling)! she was able to clean up everything 100% except the right ovary is still attached to bowel guess to risky to remove, but she seemed really happy with findings. I meet with her for my post op next week and can hardly wait since I was groggy when hearing the news. please feel free to ask me anything about the procedure and day or what to expect.

Hi

Your making me feel so much better.. Been worrying myself.

Im prepared for having pain but ive never had a general anaesthetic and im a scaredy cat. How long did the procedure take? I really feel i have to do it to find out what exactly is blocking them. Doc didnt really see why i should be putting myself through surgery when im on ivf waiting list but i would do anything tbh. X thanks so much for the info x

😊😊😊

Once you get on the table you seriously wont have time to be scared, you'll be out in less than a minute. my procedure with cleaning up adhesions took 1hr & 20min. I went in at 1pm was on the table at 2:40 woke up about 4:30 was home by 7pm. I was really scared too, but I had a great anaesthesiologist. I had no throat pain and woke up very easily. I did get a little nausea when I got up but it passed after a few minutes. I didnt even fall asleep that night till like 2am I couldn't believe I was that wide awake lol a heating pad will help you and have some movies lined up. sleep when you feel tired. I took naps here and there. the areas hurt the most when I coughed. everyday gets better my procedure was on a Thursday and I went back to work Tuesday, I could have gone Monday if I really needed too.
