Hey ladies - Anyone ovulate (or know anyone that did) on just 25mg of Clomid?? I've never heard of less than 50. My dr started me tonight on 25, I ovulate on my own but late and not consistently. I'm nervous that it's not going to be strong enough!!
I'm on 50mg and didn't ovualte at all before clomid but I have seen other women on here who have been given 25mg and ovualted. Maybe because you do ovulate by yourself they just want to try a lower does to avoid over stimualtion and an unsafe amount of follicles. Will you be getting monitored at all to see you you respond to it?
Thanks for responding! I hope it's just the little push my body needs! I'm just dying to find someone on here who has ovulated after 25 mg. I'm not getting monitored, my dr gave me 3 refills and wants to see me back in Feb. Hope 50 mg works for you!!!
I have been told to take 25mg of clomid by my fertility dr. also. I have taken it cycle day 3 - 7 last cycle and this cycle. I am also then taking progesterone pessaries after I have ovulated. I have lupus, but have also been diagnosed with short luteal phase (luteal phase defect) - the time after ovulation prior to these medications has been around 7 to 9 days. I also had an early miscarriage in July this year.
Last cycle which was my first cycle on clomid, I found that my underarms were very itchy during my fertile phase, and is starting to get that way again this cycle - talk about weird side effects. Also last cycle the days around ovulation I became very nauseous, with vomiting and diarrhea. I was worried and called the nurses at the fertility specialist office and they said I most likely caught a bug/virus. I am still suspicious whether I had hyperstimulation of the ovaries and will see if I have the same sort of effects this cycle. I am doubtful because my husband and son both did not become sick around the same time.
So, I do already ovulate on my own but they wanted to overcome the luteal phase defect and improve the quality of my eggs, which is why the low dose. I wish you all the best and hope to have some more information about my journey to help you with yours
Hi Lisa, when I went for my follicle tracking the sonographer was concerned 50mg was overstimulating me & the Dr may want to half it to 25mg - however, when I did actually ovulate there was only 1 dominant folly so they just left me on 50mg. So it sounds like 25mg is quite common too. GL! x
I am curious to know whether or not someone can ovulate on 25 mg. of clomid. Each time that my doctor started me on clomid, I always started with 50mg. However, my dose always has to go up to the 100mg. on the second round. I normally ovulate on my own but when I take clomid at 50mg. I don't ovulate. I've never really heard of anyone being on 25mg. but our bodies are all different. Good luck to you though! Baby dust to all!
