IUI and Low Sperm Count

Hi I hope this question doesn't sound stupid. But I already have one child from my first marriage when I was 25. I am now 36 and re-married but my husband has never had children and we really would like one more to complete our family. We have been told DH has low sperm count and low mobility and ICIS is the only way forward.

But I have been reading about IUI can anyone tell me if IUI could be a route to take before undergoing ICIS?

Thank you x

I would highly consider an IUI. My husband's first SA showed only 2 million on his count. I just read on another forum about a women who's husband only had 1.2 mil post wash and they are now expecting a boy. There was another lady who's husband had 8 mil and they are pregnant as well. If my husbands count is still low, we plan on still doing the IUI. I've read a lot about the procedure and yes the % can be low on success, but noone seems to know what makes an IUI really work. Also, financially for most people, it's a better option than IVF and that's also one of the reasons we are doing IUI. We can't afford anything else right now. Now, have you been checked out as well to make sure that your ok? And what was DH's count? If your ok, and the issue is with his count, then I'd try the IUI. However, if you have issues with blood work any us, then that can be a factor in what your next step would be.
Good luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that things go your way and you get a BFP very soon!!

Someone correct me if I am wrong but isn't there something FH can take to help increase the count?? I think a friend of mine's DH had to do that. Thy are deity their 2nd this fall. lots of hope!!

I agree with TTCintexas... Have you benn tested yet? While DH has maxing sperm count- superstar as my obgyn put it. Lol- we are doing IUI also bc it's cheaper than IVF. There is just no way we can afford it.

Here's hoping you get you BFP soon!!

There's a forum called Spouses with Low Sperm count..several women on that forum, many women talked about Fertility Blend. Said it does help with motility and count. I'm waiting on the results of our second SA before I look at getting it.

My DH has low sperm count too, we had our first IUI May but it was a bfn, so we are giving his spermies some months to improve before we try IUI again. He is currently taking Vitamin C 1000mg, Vitamin E and an Indian herb for male potency.
