I spoke to the clinic again and the nurse had spoken to the consultant who confirmed that he only advised us to try with our eggs one more time as we had a funded cycle left. So, if we lose an appeal for our last go then we should be considering using a donor egg.

Hope you ladies have a good weekend xxxx
Glad you have more info.

The weather has been fab today, going to have lovely long walks in the countryside this weekend, blow away those cobwebs!

Love to you all. xx

hi heavenly.

nothing much happening here except that i had a little freakout over my my short AF. but there's nothing much i can do about for now so i've decided to be 'zen' about it.

i've made an appointment to get acupuncture, after hearing so many good things from the bnb ladies. i'm a little skeptical but i figure it can't hurt. luckily, my insurance will cover a few treatments.

Hi All,
I thought I would join in with the thread. I am 43yrs old, been ttc for 4yrs. Had two cycles of clomid but didnt work, and first IVF last month, but had to convert to IUI as only had 1 follicle. Unfortunately it didnt work for us so I am back at the hospital tonight for a scan to decide whether we are able to try another round of IVF, or only other option is egg donation. We too are still undecided whether this is for us, it is a lot to think about emotionally and long term, I am more open to the idea, but my hubby has reservations, more so for when the child is older it may result in more issues. Its a very hard decision, and we hope to decide in the next few days. Both IVF and DE works out to be around £6k. I havent looked into overseas clinics - are they better do you think?

Great to talk to you all. And good luck everyone !
xx

Welcome. I can see how all this must be daunting for you and your OH. There is a lot to take in. I frequent another site which is chocced full with egg donor info, so I have dug out some boards/threads for you. There is a lot to read but I think you will find it helpful. And re abroad, there are some very good clinics abroad, so as not to bombard you too much, you could check out the Spain and Greece boards first. Serum in Athens, one in Valencia, one in Barcelona for example. Some good clinics here are linked with these clinics abroad as well.

Have a read of these links. Telling or not telling the child. Threads for clinics here and abroad etc. Hope this helps.

How is everyone?

Well AF is due end of the week, then it's just one more cycle of Clomid to go. Am quite looking forward to going back to TTC au naturelle for a few months, whilst we save up for treatment. Will just be taking supplements and having acupuncture.

Hi heavenly, Haven't been around BnB much lately as I find it was fueling my obsession. Have you had your acupuncture yet? TTC au naturelle will definitely be a lot more relaxed.

I'm going for my first acupuncture session on Sunday. It's at a clinic that specializes in fertility. I hope it goes well. I'm also going easy with the TTC this cycle. I figure with IVF coming up, I have to dial down the stress.

Thanks heavenly for all the info. I've since been back to my consultant and had a scan and blood test and he is happy with the results so going for our second round of ivf in a couple of weeks. So will se how that goes, and then failing that we will then look into egg donation.

I wish all you ladies luck with your current cycles. And sending you lots of baby dust.

Good luck everyone, I will stay in touch.

Xxxx

Hi ladies, can I join in please?
I am 42, dh 44 and we have been ttc no 2 for 3 and a half years give or take. Five cycles of clomid that never worked and messed up my cycles. We are unexplained infertility and me with low Amh. Decided on DE, joined several waiting lists and now after seven months I am about to start down regging for a dummy cycle prior to treatment. Arrgghhhh!!! I am so nervous, excited, curious all at the same time. Feels
Like we've waited for ever and ever and now we are very close it's almost surreal. Trying to keep level headed but hoping for the best.
For us DE was the best option as we can only afford one or two goes max and chances of success are so much higher than with my own eggs. We are totally fine with it, it's never been an issue as the end result is the important thing for us.

For all potential donors reading this just wanted to say thank you all
So so much as without you we wouldn't have a chance of having another baby. It's a truly wonderful thing you are doing.

For all of the potential recipients, wishing you all the luck in the world. It's such a hard journey for all of us but so worth the wait.
Xxxxxx
