IUI with low count and low motility?

I live in Newfoundland, Canada and I have a LONG wait to see the RE.... When I got my requisition, it was a 10 month wait. September is my appointment. I am anxious and anticipating what she might offer.

DH has low count (15.4 million) and low motility (24%). I have short cycles (22-25 days) but have had blood work and a pelvic u/s and apparently my levels are fine and my ovaries and everything look great. I have a repeat CD3 and 21 bloodwork to get done and DH has a repeat SA... which he is avoiding...

I am soooo overwhelmed with this whole TTC thing. It has been 24 cycles now and nothing but a false positive. I am struggling with resentment and sooo many things. I just need some hope. Is IUI a possibility? Will it work? I will never be able to afford IVF.... 25, 000 is a lot. We do not have the resources here so I need to fly out of province. There is no coverage for fertility besides a few meds. Hope pleassseeee.... I need some....

Sounds like IUI would be good for you, they usually recommend it for low sperm count.

but that is a LONG wait for an appointment! must be driving you crazy!!!
good luck hope you get your before september, keep trying!!!!

Thanks so much Hope is sooo welcomed! The wait is a KILLER. I am just extra anxious lately. Hoping and praying that it happens naturally but just not banking on it. Who knows. Thanks for the reply. I hope IUI is an option!!!

Hi Steph, yes I'm going through the same thing. I had my first iui today , dr says my hubby's count was 15 mil combined with fresh & frozen & the motility was low. We will see what happens. I hope everything goes well for you, I agree I think iui is definatly a option for you.

Thanks so much Sadly, we do not have the facilities here to freeze sperm so we will only have what the sample provides us. I wish you SO much luck. Please please post and let me know the results of your IUI. I pray you get your baby xoxo

Thank you & same to you! I believe everything will work out for all of us. I do not understand why they do not give you that option to freeze any of it, is there any other facilities in your area that offer that? I totally agree with you about Ivf being alot of $, I haven't really talked o my dr bout that yet, since the iui is the first option in our cases. Good luck
