Freaking Out Just a Tad Bit

Hey girls

So I just came back from my fertility consult with a new doctor at a new location... I go Monday for an ultrasound and my husband has to go on Tuesday for a Semen Analysis

I'm freaking out because he must complete his SA at the fertility center... and that is a HUGE problem as my husband has never and I mean absolutely never "masterbated" OMG am I allowed to say that on here? LOL I know it's hard to believe because we all tend to think that all men do it, but he has never ever done this.

At the last center we were able to collect the sample at home and well we had our methods but now we can't, I can't even get out of work for his appointment to be there with him and I'm down right frustrated!

Why can't pregnancy just occur normally for me? Why must we endure this ridiculous torture and anxiety and fear. OMG I've been crying since we left the doctors and I feel stupid about it.

I'm sorry for the vent, but I have no one to talk to, this site and the girls here are my help, my support

I know exactly what you are going through. Believe it or not, I thought for sure that my husband would not be able to masterbate at the clinic, but he did! In fact, he has done it......4 times now! I was shocked!

I'm really shocked to come across someone else who's husband has never masturbated. My DH couldn't/didn't know how to do it and we couldn't get a sample. We tried unsuccessfully at home using the recommended method (Male Factor pak condom), as well as some others. I was distraught and frustrated when we ran into this hurdle but we're ok now after a visit to the urologist.

I hope it works out for you. There are alternatives and you and your husband will be able to get that sample. Good luck!

Is there another place he can go that allows at home collection & you could bring the results to the new place? We had an issue when we switched clinics and they accepted his sa results as long as they were in the last 6 months. Does dh have any issues? Maybe he should give it a try, he may get the hang of it quick.
