I was wondering what other supplements or things I can take and in what quantity to help. Temping and OPKs since Dec have me going crazy as they are all over the place, but we know I have ovulated on my own and normally have periods every 2-3 months. So as far as things other than pre-seed, which I am aware of, what are other good things to try??? |
Hi EPO is evening primrose oil, and it has two functions- firstly and importanty for conception it aids the development of EWCM- and if your on clomid you need all the help you can get with that- and robitussen helps to think it out wich is what the sprem need to get to their target! Also to help with production of ewcm you need to drink lots of water- and cut down of foods that when digested make the CM more acidic (which makes the cm hostile to sperm)- for that you cut down on meat (dont eliminate it though, if you get low on iron your less likely to O and also less likely to build a string unterine lining) alcochol and caffine and sugar all bad- very acidic- apparently peas and peanuts are a no-n0. Pretty much anything else that is natural is good.
The other thing that EPO does is it apparently helps reugulate progesterone and eostrogens so that your PMT symptoms wil be alleviated (Vitex does this too, and is apparently good for coceiving, but not if your on Clomid- as it works the opposite way to clomid)
Other things that you can do is drink at least one cup of green tea a day for greater overall reproductive health, as well as raspberry leaf tea for unterine health.
Th other side effect of clomid is that it can thin out your uterine lining and make it unstable so that even if you O and ferticlse the egg, it may not implant successfully- so the raspberry leaf tea is good to combat that along with water, iron, folate and taking a baby asprin each evening (this thins the blood and therefore increases blood flow to the unterus and aparently helps to build up the lining- hopefully giving a nice soft bed for a conceived egg!
Take micinex/robistussin (you want only ingredient to be guavenessin spelling?) as this thins the mucus in the body (you will notice your nose running a lot after this!)- This is an expectorant- you dont want to take a decongestant- as that dries up the mucus. SO be carefull. From about cd10-20 it is recommended to take two teaspoons three times a day.
If you get deep into the nutritian side of it, there are other natural supplements you can take- but it becomes expensive. I take VIt E- helps to make good quality eggs, and trace elements such as selenium, magnesium are apparently helpful too. I also take chromium which helps with insulin resistance (as does metformin). Apparently people who take high but safe doses (dont ask me what a high but safe dose is!) of fish oil and folate have a much greater chance of having twins. ALso flax seed oil is meant to be useful in CM production. co-q-10 is good fro some people an not for others, its is an essential part of cell growth and development, but it upsets some peoples stomaches, make some people lightheaded and dizzy- it will lower BP and as BS- thats goos if you have high BP and BS, but not ood if its normal!
I have become a bit of a supplement junkie, and im not pregnant yet! But i havse started Ovulating, and have great EWCM- more importanty (i think?) i feel much more energetic, healthy, vibrant and even younger! Skin much better and PMT symptoms greatly relieved. So i think if i really am healthier- that in itslef should help me to fall- even if it is an indirect result.
Sorry for writing to much!-i don't buy into the soy stuff, the science seems to suggest t can go both ways! Eliminate chemical sweeteners and use full fat dairy products is also another tip- they are more staisfying and people who eat full fat products stop eateing sooner, and therefore consume less calories- not to mention low fat products contain more sugar and salt/
GOOD LUCK!!
