Taking Clomid (cd3-7) vs. (5d5-9)

My hubby and I have been ttc for almost 3 years and finally went to a specialist. She wants us to do a IUI w/ clomid on days 3-7 this month. I have taken clomid alone on day's 5-9 and usually ovulate from days 13-16. I'm wondering does taking it earlier in you cycle make you ovulate earlier? And has anyone had success on thier first IUI? Thanks!!!

Hi Nik,

I didnt do IUI but I took clomid days 5-9 not 3-7 and from what I hear the only difference is that on 3-7 you will get more follicles and possiblly more eggs....on 5-9 they are usually trying to give you 1 really strong follicle. I hope this helps!

Not a huge success rate at least it's a step forward I guess lol saying lots of prayers for all of us girls!

hey hun

im on my 3rd round of clomid, if i dont get pregnant we will be doing iui next round--

we are doing everything right and not getting preg, it must be timing.....

but yea i heard cd 3-7 (which is when i take it) gives u more eggs, and a strong mature one 5-9

from what i hear, iui is great w clomid bc clomid makes ur cm thicker not as nice for sperm, so with iui ur cm doesnt matter, i heard it def ups the pregnancy rate....

i took this cycles from 2-6, last month was 5-9. The 5-9 made me O- but we thought seems though we dont seem to be catching it...we would step it up a bit! SO im doing the EPO and robitussen for EWCM, along with plenty of water and green t- this month its the first time we will use pre-seed- hope that does the trick!!

today is CD11 for me- im 2 dys away from the earliest approximation of possible O, and 7 days from the latest appromination of O! So, the game starts tonight or tomorrow nt- gotta get those

ready and waiting for when the egg pops out! Im not telling DH about the pre-seed, he hates anything like that, so ill just do that bit on the quiet- i expect he'll enjoy it anyhow!
