I used Bravelle and Menopur for my first injectables cycle and did not respond well to it. Then my RE changed it to Follistim and I responded really well to that! Follistim and Gonal F are both FSH only injections and are basically the same thing with different names. I actually overstimulated with Follistim on my current cycle. This is after only ovulating 2/3 times with Clomid 150 mg and not responding at all to Femara.
GonalF is pricey but effective. It worked well for me though I needed higher doses after each attempt. I also over stimulated each time so after if I mc'd I'd have to take something to help the cysts go down.
I didn't respond well to menopur the first time and now the doc is talking about gonal f for our next cycle instead. What do you guys think about a gonal f only cycle for iui?
If you did it How did you respond?
I have mild PCOS and am currently in my first IUI cycle on Gonal-F (dosage 75). It has been kind of a roller coaster. I have a ton of follicles. When I went on Monday, one week after I started, I seemed to have plateaued. At the previous appt I had a few 10-11mm (and a ton lower than that), but on Monday the 10-11mm follicles didn't grow and I had maybe 6 at 10-11mm. He was talking about turning the cycle into IVF.
I just went this morning and I now have a 14mm and 13mm(x2) and the rest under 10mm. So now IVF is off the table since I now have some "dominant" follicles. I am praying that the top 3 and ONLY the top 3 progress, as my Dr won't do the IUI if I have more than 4 mature follicles.
I had a major meltdown and spiraled out of control once we started talking about turning the cycle into ivf. It seems like today I took a turn for the best. I am trying to stay calm and hope for the best!
