I suppose I'm worried that LO would enjoy the ice cream so much that she wouldn't want to eat anything else!

My LO (9 months) has had the odd little taste of ice cream and she does rather like it! I don't see the harm in letting her taste it

She's had the odd spoons and licks.
Only when it was super super hot she's devoured one ice lolly by herself.

She's had a couple of spoonfuls here and there and shes 9 months. The odd marshmallow off my hot chocolate and a few bits of cake. Such small amounts can't hurt in a healthy diet I figured and for me it's all part of giving her a range of different tastes.

I gave my little girl a teensy taste of my ice cream the other day - her face was quite funny as she registered the cold sensation! But it's the only sugary thing she's had so far. I'm not really intending her to have 'treats' for a while. I won't withhold them as she gets older, as I believe everything in moderation is perfectly healthy, but at 9 months she has no idea about them so I don't really see the point! It would be more for me to see her reaction. Also we're still tentatively feeling our way with solids so I'd like to get more established with that incase she decides she only wants sweet stuff! But I will let her have cake on her first birthday, especially as I'm going to bake it

I wouldn't give icecream just yet, but I made some frozen yoghurt for her and she loved it!! I'm not going to give LO any junk food for as long as possible. She doesn't know it exists so not missing out

Everything and anything in moderation is fine.

I have a pic of my almost 7 month old tucking into a cone - thats what the pic looks like, but in fact he had 2 licks!! Things are not always what they seem when you look like at pics!!
