baby choking himself?

for the past few weeks dom has consistently gnawed on his fists furiously to what i assume could only be teething signs...or weening, but i say teething! lol

Well anywho's, in the past week or so this has no progressed into dom CONSTANTLY sticking his middle and index finger into his mouth. Now,im still guessing his gums are irritating him so we're using the dentinox teeth gel, i had got him a tommee tippee teether soother, but its too wide to even help it just flops out of his mouth, My new RazBerry teether arrived today and im hoping *HOPING* this will help but its pretty alien to him atm as its a bumpy teether in the shape of a dummy,so he wants to suck but its impossible to do so-anyway tailing off again...he rams his fingers so far back he keeps choking himself, its like he wants to purge or something, i happened to have him in his bouncer in clear sight of me washing up this morning and within 5 seconds of me starting to wash i could hear him choking and had to dash up to him as he didn't clock that his fingers were causing it and continued to ram them into his mouth with each choke. It's slightly distressing me...as ALL HE DOES is do this, even when not hungry...could his molars start budding in now? is that even possible? thanks ladies

My LO does this...obviously not teething as she's only 2 weeks, but sucks her fingers for comfort, but shoves them right back and then starts choking on them! My sister's son used to do the same!

Suppose they're built-in soothers/teethers!! they're too little to realise that's what's choking them too!

thats what im doing...but i felt awful as i got so frustrated i shouted at dom, then had to step back and think about why i had shouted at a child who A)doesn't know what hes doing wrong and B) cant understand what im saying or doing,i felt AWFUL. Its just upsetting to see him gag, start to cry or go teary eyed! im hoping its a passing phase for us all...
