6 month old stuffy/runny nose

What can I give him to clear this up? He woke up yesterday with a stopped up nose. You can hear that he is having trouble breathing through his nose and it runs. I'm not sure what it could be, he's acting fine and not sick, no cough or fever

First of all, I'm sorry stuffy noses are no fun! At that age you can use saline drops and an aspirator. It's not easy and babies hate it but the only 'safe' treatment (i.e. not giving LO medication they're too young for). I usually have my husband help distract LO when she's laying on her back and squeeze a few drops of the saline mixture in her nose. Let that sit for a few minutes so the boogies get nice and juicy, then use the aspirator. LO Hates that part but it does help and she can breathe better!

Good Luck!

Thank you.
I have been using that nose sucky thing all day and a few times in the night to help him a little and he screams! I literally have to pin him down to keep him still. Does any saline drops work and are okay?

--saline drops
--aspirator (my doctor tells us to only use the small ones)
--a humidifier

Sometimes pediatricians can recommend other things that we haven't thought of, so I'd give them a call. xx Hope your lo feels better soon.

This. We have been using a humidifier since ryland was 2 weeks old as his nose was getting so dry, it would bleed. We have infant saline spray which he doesn't mind at all, and just keep sucking them out.

So far I did the saline drops and sucker thing and its been working. He's better when he sleeps upright like in his swing or carseat it seems. He's a grumpy baby today from the lack of sleep so hoping for some good naps today! Something is in the air around here. My mom and my friends baby are both the same way today
