I tend to leave the top half dressed as my house is kinda cool.
Lay him on the bed/PLAYMAT/ cot with a LARGE bath towel doubled over under him. Then off he goes.
However.... If ur LO is prone to explosive poo's it can be an idea to a 'towel barrier at the end of their feet.
Also, if you think they are going to wee lots, a plastic bag uner the towel works well too.

I leave on her top half of clothing too....its chilly here! And then lie her on a changing mat with a towel over the top of it...she doesnt have accidents very often when shes having her nappy free time, I think she is too engrossed in eating her toes to pee!!!

I keep my baby's clothes on the top half and put a folded towel underneath her to catch accidents because she usually pees when the nappy comes off!

What about those disposable changing mats that companies like Pampers make? They're quite pricey at nearly 4 for a pack of 12 but would be convenient and work pretty well (unless you have a crawler).

Don't think it's a must. Does he ever get nappy rash?

Joni gets nappy rash all the time no matter what I do so I try to take her nappy off as much as possible. Get through about 5 or 6 towels at least a day, had to buy several packs of tea towels especially. In fact she's got her nappy off now. x

my guys always has a poop after his morning bottle and nap...so i always do nappy of time then, as it just when i would be getting him dressed and the chances are he just done a wee when he did his poop (sorry tmi).

then i have a big towel which i lay down for him to roll around. I used to keep a wipe over his willy to keep any possible spray down rather then getting everyone...but now he rolls/trys to crawl it doesnt work.

I do it all the time with my LO, just think it gives them a bit of freedom. I use the pampers disposable change mats as someone else suggested xx
