Does this look like a tongue tie?

Posting this here and in breastfeeding.

I've always thought that Alfie just had a short tongue, as I've never seen it out of his mouth, but after seeing a link to babies with tongue tie on another thread I thought it looked very familiar.

What do you think, is this just normal do all babies have this?

it does look suspiciously like tongue tie, rhys had his tongue done when he was a day old so i didnt really get time to inspect.
take him to the docs if your worried or let hv see next time you have him weighed rhys's was medium scale as there are varying degrees of it and they'll know for sure.

if rhys hadnt of struggled feeding i'd have never have known.
xx

Alfie never latched even tho I tried and tried and tried!

He is SUCH a fussy feeder, he gulps and gulps taking lots of air, every bottle is a complete battle.

yes it looks like he is tongue tied as you can see the little bit of skin from the tongue to the bottom of the mouth.

ii think they just cut it so it releases the tongue and then it heals its self.

its definately a tongue tie.

go to your gp and they will refer you to specialist, its just a little snip takes a few secs to fix, and youll find he gets on much better with feeding

Thanks girls, it is such a relief to find a reason to why he is such a difficult feeder.

Making an appointment today.
