for anyone thats gone back to work or is going back to work

well im going back in just over 2 weeks , 8th june i start back , one im worried about leaving him, mum is having him till hubby finishes work , another thing is i only work 18 hrs a week so will be working 2pm-8pm 3 days a week , well when i popped into work last week the manager was moaning that these are the only hrs i can do , he was saying we will have to have a look , im worried now in case they get rid of me when i go back because i can,t do other hrs . violet x

if you are just returning from maternity leave, i believe they have to hold your old postion for you, and i think they have to let you do those hours if they are the only ones workable for you.
Im no expert but Im fairly sure... if the answers on here bring you no joy then try calling citizens advice , they will be able to tell you where you stand

They have to hold your position open by law.... but as it was before you went on maternity leave (including the hours/work pattern). You have the right to request part time and flexible working hours, and they have a legal responsibility now to consider your request, but if they can prove that it is not workable or in the company's interest to agree to your request, they are allowed to refuse it.

Atleast you get to leave him with someone you know and trust, Amelie will be going to nursery when I go back to work in September as my parents and OHs parents work full time
