Baby is always constipated... HELP!!

My 9.5 month always seems to be constipated now. I have tried all the usual things, prunes, apples, pears, warm water, and they all work okay and he will have a poo but the next time he has to go he is constipated again! I give him pureed fruit to try and keep him regular but it doesnt seem to work. The lat thing i tried that work was diluted prune juice in warm water. Have also done all the tummy rubbing and working his legs.

Is anyone have a baby that is like this? Im starting to get a bit worried.

My niece was always like that. In the end they started giving her a small serving of fruit smoothie every single day, whether or not she was constipated, and it helped her to stay regular.

Mine's like this and he's started holding it in when he needs to go so I've just been prescribed lactulose for him. Ashley loves his fruit and he has prune juice in his water at meal times but he's got to the stage where he's knows it's going to hurt.

My son always seems to be constipated too!
He didn't mind prune juice before but now he won't have it at all, I'm also going to try the lactulose again, maybe you should take him gp to get prescribed some?
The only thing that helped his poo was the antibiotics he was on 2 weeks ago, that was making him go constantly with runny poo.
Maybe also try lessen that amount of bananas and yogurt he has if he does have those a lot, I've heard they can cause constipation x

Twice a day I had to give my son pear juice. I had to do this from about 4 weeks old.. twice a day I would give him 1oz pear juice mixed with 1oz water. Once he started of foods I. Stopped giving him 1 bottle of the juice but always gave him more fruits (pears, prunes, peaches).

He has still not poo'd I have tried to give him warm water with prune juice, pear juice and did all the usual gentle tummy rubbing, circling his legs and nothing is working! When i try and give him any prunes (the actual prune, not the juice) he just push's my hand away and clamps his mouth shut.
If he doesnt go by tonight im going to call the doctor and see if he can get something.

Ignore, what your doing to get rid of the constipation, whats your baby eating everyday?

He hasnt had a proper poo (soft mushy poo) for about a week. When he does try and go he strains really hard and cries and when i check his nappy all thats there is a really hard small ball of poo.

In the morning he will have porridge or some mornings a fruit pot instead. For lunch he has a jar and maybe some of what we eat later on for dinner. He also has his bottles (3 a day) and i try to give him some water/juice throughout the day.

I swear I could've wrote this myself. Pears work sporadically for him, same with prune juice, but both only seem to work for one poop if they work at all. All others times he won't go for a few days and when he does try he strains and screams and only gets out a hard poop. We have suppositoried him as well but again that only solves things for about a night.

^^^^ Yes, this is what he is like. I was up at 4.00am changing his nappy as he was trying to do a poo, it was a big ball which must have hurt. God knows what the next poo is going to be like.
