Smelly ears..

I've noticed lately that Maisies ears ( both of them, but one more so than the other ) have this fusky sort of smell, right inside her ear. It's quite strong on the one, although you can't smell it unless you smell in her ear, and slightly noticeable in the other.

I clean her ears daily but obviously i cant clean inside, which is where the smells coming from? Anyone else had this?

Hmmm... not sure about the smelly ear, but Cameron gets a smelly neck under his chin! Sometimes I just don't get all the milk out of it after he eats! Maybe there's milk stuck around his ear??

Ive thoroughly cleaned inside and ourside her ears ( by inside i dont mean inside her actual ear, just the inside folds) and its still there, i can only smell it when i put my nose right into her ear...

I thought maybe an infection? But she isnt showing any signs?

I did once notice there was a foul smel coming from her neck where i hadnt cleaned it properly and milk had got there, but this is a completely different smell to that so i dont think its milk?

I've just read up on it..

Quote:
It can be difficult to tell, but if your child has a cough or runny nose and then suddenly develops a fever about three to five days later, it may be caused by an ear infection (CKS 2007). She may also tug at her ear or be out of sorts. If she is toddling, she may have balance problems and be more clumsy than normal.

Sucking and swallowing can also hurt, so if your baby starts to feed and then pulls away from your breast or a bottle, seemingly in pain, see your GP.
And she does have a cough ( not a bad one ), and ive noticed with some of her bottles she pulls herself back and cries.. but i thought that was just due to wind??

Should i wait out for a bit or get her checked now?

Laura ive had this with Jessica and i discovered it was coming from behind her lobes, there was a line of stuff and think it was just soap not rinsed off properly. Know your saying u have cleaned them but i was too and it must have just been missed, this was like the smell of, well u know if u dont wear earrings for a while then u put one in u sometimes get a funny smell (soz tmi), well that smell. Is it like that? I just used her sponge and ran it up and down behind her ears then put a bit of tac on them. If that doesnt help then i would c gp as prob an infection. Kx
