No arm strength?

This is probably me being a neurotic mama, but my 5.5 month old doesn't seem to have any arm strength at all. She loves to practice standing and has some strong little legs, but she can't do a mini pushup at all. At this point she can sort of lift up on her forearms, but that's pretty recent.

Anyone else have a LO like this?

My LO is similar! She has very strong legs and can hold her weight for minutes at a time if I'm helping balance her

I've only twice seen her lift her torso with her arms straight. She gets up onto her forearms no problem though!

I'm not worried. I'm sure her arm strength is coming. I've recently started gently resisting when she pulls my fingers or arm to help her start building some strength!

My LO is also similar, I put it down to him having quite a large head, must be hard to support your head with just your arms and your next/tummy muscles.

My dd was exactly the same! I was so worried. But now she insists on carrying all her bags into nursery and helping bring in the shopping, and tries like mad to lift a 24pack of toilet roll!! x

Glad she's not the only one! I swear, they're like useless little T-Rex arms.

I guess she'll get stronger whenever she gets stronger.

Although, I have to admit that she managed to grab my dinner plate, followed by a fistful of salad and tomato tonight. So at least she's getting more coordinated.

Speaking of T-Rex, that was my nickname growing up because I only wanted to eat meat!

Mine too.

21 weeks and using her neck and shoulders rather than her arms. She leaves her arms flopped by her side when I pick her up too.... what do yours do when you pick her up? I'm worried too.
