still lactating, son 7 months and stopped bf when he was 8 weeks!

i stopped bf my son when he was 8 weeks old (VERY long upsetting story for me!) and my period returned a month after i stopped, however my son is now 7 months old, and when i squeeze them (sorry tmi!) i still get clear liquid coming out, not heaps but enough to run down me. is this normal? i remember during my bf problems, i pumped sooo much as i was so scared my milk would dry up really quickly, i also got sick and has to be put on steroids and antihistamines so had to stop for a week and my supply barely dropped (didnt pump as much as i was so ill). it took about 2 months until i stopped leaking milk.

will it always be like this now? it doesnt bother me at all, im just curious. i still get that feeling sometimes, when i think about bf my son (i really miss it), where u kind of feel ur milk coming out/let down kind of feeling but they dont leak.

do you squeeze them or stimulate them almost everyday? i also stopped bf'ing at 8 weeks, i was also very upset about it, but my milk only lasted a few months and i realized it was because i would empty them in the shower which was really stimulating to make more.

I stopped breastfeeding over five months ago and still get small leaks every quite often. I'm guessing it's pretty normal. With ds1 I was pregnant again a couple of months after I finished bf so I never got to a point where it stopped naturally with no extra hormones flowing.

I think it's normal and there is no way to know when it will stop. It varies for each person. I thought I would be able to give up breast pads and feeling engorged eventually, but I still do after 13 months.

I've heard you can leak for years. I BFed for 5 months, it's been 4 months since then and I still leak on occasion. It sucks.

Interesting to hear about this! My milk dried up in 2 weeks after breastfeeding for 6 months.

I pumped for 7 months for Hayden, and got pregnant again when he was almost 2 and never actually completely stopped. I leaked for a few months, then it was only when squeezed, which I didn't do often, just every now and then to see if it had stopped yet. Guess everyone's different and there's no way of knowing how long it will last x

Same here. I stopped pumping two weeks ago today and can barely squeeze out a drop or two now. I've also heard that some women produce for years after stopping.
