At least when it comes to baby clothes and toys. Has anyone else noticed this?
Micah is obsessed with cats and we're always searching for cat related things for him, but I'm yet to find a single unisex or boyish piece of clothing with a cat on! Lions and tigers, yes.. but no domestic cats. Everything has dogs and puppies on.
Then I see loads of girly pink clothes with cats and kittens on. Even the 'that's not my kitten'book I saw recently was pink although online you seem to be able to get one in an aqua colour. I don't mind him having some pink toys and things but the clothes are really obviously girly. Has anyone found anything less gender biased?
I love dogs, and I'd love to get my baby girl some cute baby grows with puppies on them, but anything I've seen that has dogs on has been for boys! Yet she has been given loads of pink things with kittens on!
How weird is it?!? I don't know why it would be that way!
I have been noticing this too. Sophie and Thomas got some new clothes from their great grandma on Sunday, all of the shirts Sophie got were pink with cats! Never seen a dog on girls clothes or a cat on boys stuff.
It is a weird gender association for sure. Dex has a few items of clothing that have cats on them, and they seem to be ASDA/Sainsburys brand clothes. But most of his animal -centric clothes are dogs. Weird.
