6 month old using a straw cup

Ive been using the basic TT free flow sippy cup with my ds but earlier i tried him with my daughters straw cup and he drank from it so much better.
Is it ok to use a straw cup for him? As they are normally marked 12 months +. Does anyone else use a straw instead of sippy cup?

Wow my LO is 7 1/2 months and she isn't using any kind of cup yet. I didn't know we could at this age. I would think if your LO is doing good with it than it should be OK? Not sure.

It's amazing that he can use it. If he prefers that let him keep at it

It's perfectly fine to use a straw cup from 6 months. Not every baby figures out how to suck from a straw that early, but most can figure it out by 12 months. We never used a sippy with my older boy. Went straight to straw cups. I think we introduced them at 9 months.
Personally, I think that's better for their teeth anyway.
