does my baby sleep too much at night?

Hi,just wondering if it is ok and normal for a 3 month old baby to sleep 12-14hours a night. she also has little naps in the day and only drinks 3 or 4 bottles a day. i no im probably worrying for nothing but she does seem to sleep a lot.

Alex was always a sleepy baby untill recently, i would wonder about the number of bottles though....3/4 is usually enough for a 7+month old

Thats pretty much what Abby does and has since about that age. Babies of 3 months generally need about 15-18 hours a day. Abby has two or three 2 hour naps and sleeps 11/12 hours at night.

Check out the number of threads here about babies not sleeping, especially during the day and relax about it!!

I would say no, but if she is gaining weight and giving plenty of wet / dirty nappies then maybe it is.

my wee girl from one week old slept from 11pm till 7/8 the next day at 1 week old! when she got to the time she was on solids she would go down around 7ish and last till 8/9 the next day. As long as she gains weight there is nothing to worry about, i was told that children like ours are a rarity! so enjoy x

I wished I could have had that "problem" at 3 months.

I guess if you're concerned, you could ask your ped. at their next appointment, but I'd bet you're just lucky!

I want my baby to sleep that long. he is up that long in a 24 hour stretch I think. Right now hes been sleeping since around 4pm. I will have to wake him up and try to keep him awake and see if he will go down around 11pm and see how he lasts.
I do have a rare baby on my hands to, he was born with actual baby teeth and is teething.
As for your baby and her bottles..she should get about 30+ ounces a day and calculating that she is getting about that so I wouldnt worry on it. She just has a big tummy and can go longer than most. My little guy eats 5 ounces every 3 hours or so.
