Present ideas for a friend who's just had a baby?

My friends about to have her second baby after a really long and stressful journey to get to this point.

This baby literally has everything it could ever want, enough clothes to last it a lifetime. I want to get her something that will be really special but just can't think of anything! Help please. Was considering putting together a post baby essentials basket for mum but again, she's a shopperholic and has everything.

Any ideas will be great, thanks!

One thing I've always wished for postpartum is for someone to drop off a few delicious homemade meals, packed in disposable containers (or one that they didn't want back!), so I could have something delicious to eat with NO cleanup or work on my part. Another really nice thing would be to offer to help clean or do laundry or look to look after their children for a little while so they can take a nap or relax or shower! These are, of course, not tangible gifts, but I'd love someone forever if they did that for me, lol...

Sooo I've decided to make her an adult nappy cake. Since baby doesn't need anything!

Here's my list so far,

Nice knickers
Maternity pads
Bottle of alcohol
Stool softener
Breast pads
Hand cream
Dry shampoo
Witch hazel
Vagisil.
Nipple cream
Non maternity leggings
Just eat voucher
Snacks

Any other ideas?

Chocolate bars! Someone gave me something similar at my shower and the chocolate thrilled me. Also some Epsom salts would be nice too.

You know.

I think back to my postpartum period... and the one thing I appreciated the most was my sister bringing me chocolate.

People rarely ever think about the mother/parent. Sometimes, we want to be thought about, too. Birth is exhausting, and the postpartum period is hard.

Maybe a meal, some chocolates, something like that.

I definitely think things to pamper her are more important than adult diapers, etc. you can buy that stuff on your own, and she most likely has bought some already. Maybe a gift card for a pedicure, some new pretty pajamas, a facial. New moms want to be pampered and pretty, too. I felt like everyone forgot about me - it was all about the baby, and I didn't want gifts of breast pads.
