My baby is 2 months and 1 week old; she will be 10 weeks old tomorrow. She is not yet laughing, but on the pamphlet our pediatrician gave us it said that she should be laughing by now. Is that right? Did your baby laugh by 2 months? She smiles and coos, just doesn't laugh.
Don't worry - like pip said all babies are different. Also - when my LO started 'laughing' it wasn't recognisable as a laugh. It was only once the sound developed that we realised what it was. Now it is a proper laugh. Hope that makes sense!
Ive had 3 babies and none were laughing by 3 months! They all smiled and cooed by then but laughing will come when they are ready (the pamphlets with the 'when they will do things' are a very very rough guide and can be months out on some things). Its like walking - my neice could walk steadily at 9 months whereas my friends baby still couldnt walk at 16 months so use the guide very warily.
My LO is 2 months 5 days and she hasn't left yet! I feel like she's almost there, making gurgly noises and cooing lots and smiling, but no laughs as of yet! I'm sure it'll happen for both of us soon!! :-) xx
