Registered sex offender in my new neighborhood!

Apparently he was 18 and the girl was 15. The incident happened 7 years ago. We don't know any other details. It's a very nice neighborhood so I believe he's living with his parents. We already invested $2,300 into buying it before we looked on the Family Watchdog website. But there is still time to pull out. I LOVE the house and the location is perfect, schools are great, etc... I just don't want that to cloud my judgement.

hmmmm, to be honest this sort of thing happens all the time and the guy isn't found out, so no where is necessarily 'safe' from that. There are loads of school girls sleeping with older guys - sometimes the guys don't even know they are in school!

Personally I wouldn't take much notice of a guy sleeping with a 15 yr old these days (some of them look my age and I am 30!)

If you said he was a peado...as in photos, abduction, peeping - I would think differently...but not in this case.

I'd second this. I'm by no means saying that what he did was ok, but there is not a big age gap between 15 and 18 and were prob moving in the same social circles. If he was 40 and she was 15 then that would be a different matter.

me personally this wouldnt bother me, alot of 15 years olds have 18 year old boyfriends, and in many cases the 15 year olds lie about there age claiming to be 16 or 17, this may of been the case. Like above if it was a 40yr old and 15yr old it would be alot different xx

it depends but i this paticiular case i wouldnt let that bother me if it was a house i really wanted, having a 15 yr old daughter myself i'd rather be aware of this person and be able to talk to her of risks etc.

this kind of thing happens all the time and we are totally unaware most the time. its not the people who you know about that is the risk its the weirdo's you dont know about, i think of everyone as a threat really i take no-one as face value but thats just me

The sad reality is that children are more likely to be abused by someone they know than by a stranger.

In this case, given the circumstances, I wouldn't be put off the house.

I'd agree with this, so long as it was consensual.

Ditto! I wouldn't be bothered. Sounds like statutory rape, which isn't right, but definitely not the same case as a 40 year old and a 5 year old, you know? I thought you meant a pedophile when you said registered sex offender, actually.
