Zac is 16weeks and for the last 2 weeks he as had really red rash on the side of his face. Over the last week it has gotten very bad and has gone to both cheeks and moved up towards the side of his eyes, its red inflammed and very rough and dry. I dont know what it is ? I have tried vaseline, e45, sudocream. and nothing seems to help. I dont know if I should go to the docs what do you ladies think ??
hiya hun, my lo had a bright red rash down the sides of her face and under her chin, i was to the docs anyway for me but just asked what she thought it might be and she said it could either be a heat rash or baby acne, it turned out to be a heat rash because we had been putting her in too many layers in the cold weather but she didnt need it all ! baby acne is a release of hormones apparently that causes a rash on their face. I would go to the docs if lo seems poorly with it too though ! xx
All those u used will irritate it more. Dont touch it, & keep ur LO's hands covered as he'll tend to scratch them. Just wash his face with warm water & try it well. Avoid hot bathes, & dont let him cry for long time. I had to use hydrocortisone cream for 3 dys with my LO as it was really severe & looked like burns. But this is the last solution.
My son had this too - small red spots and lumps that started around his ears then spread to cheeks, chin and forehead - and the dr said it was eczema. I had to put oil on his skin regularly throughout the day (I used olive oil, but he said sunflower would do too, about 6 times a day) and it cleared up within a week. My son didn't seem too bothered by it, just rubbed at it sometimes and was feeding and filling his nappies normally, but if yours seems out of sorts then i'd say it's worth a trip to the dr just to put your mind at rest.
