When did your baby discover their feet

I was just wondering as several of Jack's "friends" most of which are younger than him, play and seem fascinated by their feet. JAck takes not notice of this except to make splashes in the bath.

So I know its not a competition etc etc, but should he be playing with his feet?

I think Elle noticed them around 5 months. Before then, she didn't seem to notice them at all. One day I thought it was odd and played patty cake with her feet while changing her. That seemed to turn on a switch. She started playing with them immediately.

Some babies are obsesed with feet, btw. My nephew used to take poeples socks off to chew on their feet. Some babies like feet more then others. I wouldn't worry about it. You could try sitting him on your lap with nothing on his feet and without any toys. See if he goes for his feet.

12 wks. He refuses to wear shoes as he loves to have his feet bare, to raise them up & look at them when he's moving his toes. He can take off his shoes & socks since he was 12 wks by rubbing his feet together until he succeeds to take them off. Now when he's taking a bath he catches his floating duck with his feet then bends his knees to bring it close to his hands

edt: Omar has better control on his feet & legs than his hands. Babies r different.

Abigail does this too, she has been obsessed with her feet for a couple of weeks but just like nmwb says, she is much more a 'legand foot' baby than a hand and arm baby. She doesn't have much upper arm strength with tummy time at all. I also wonder if the fact that she has incredibly long legs has anything to do with it, it's so easy for her to get hold of her feet when her legs are in the air!

our LO was between 4 and 5 months when he first noticed them and then just steadily kept getting more and more into playing with them until he can now bring both of them right up to his mouth! - i wouldn't panic tho, they're all so different. our LO has only just learnt to roll all the way onto his front and he's only done that once as well! plus he's not sitting up unaided yet but sure he will get there in the end!
