Rusks! Yum....but....

I never tried LO with Rusks until today. i gave her one while we were in Asda and she loved it.

I read a thread about them being really high in sugar so i tried one - albeit they are bloody good, but are they reeeeeeally bad for LO? Surely they are OK, as they have been around for years?

I was glad LO had a finger food she enjoyed and wouldnt choke on, I felt like we made a lil step! Now I am worried.

Not that she'll get another anytime soon, because im gonna save some for a cuppa later

It's a personal choice hon. I wouldnt say just because something has been around for years, that makes it good. Normal rusks have 30% added sugar and the low sugar versions have 20% added sugar. Personally I don't give LO any artificially sweetened foods so she has organix and plum biscuits which are sweetened with grape juice and spelt syrup. If you're content with the sugar levels then that's totally up to you

Brady loves these, I haven't tried him with rusks yet, but from looking at both of them I think that the Organix biscuits are a lot easier for them to eat, perfect size for them to hold.

Plus, don't rusks have gluten in them? so not really any good if trying 'finger foods' before 6 months

I have no idea what they taste like. I have nothing against them, but with all the choices out there I bet I never get a chance to try them
