Hi, I will be stalking this thread out of interest. I always thought we would wait 2-3 years between, especially after i had to have a C Section but now we have started talking about having them much closer. I was hoping to start trying again in January when Austin is 1 but at the mo this is still just in discussion as my OH didnt cope to well with the emotional trauma of the labour ( he did a fantastic job but we had a very traumatic birth ) and at the mo he cant even think about going through it again! I think the reason i want them closer together is to get the sleepless nights etc done all together and to have them closer would hopefully mean they are always very close freinds etc. Although saying that if we have another boy i would like to keep trying until we have a little girl too. We also have to wait until we have a new ( bigger) house before number 2 comes along xx

I have a 4 and a 2 (3 next week) year old other than Ozzie. Tbh there's pros and cons to both sides. In a way having two close together was lovely because they get on great and when they were really little they progressed together with things (weaning, potty training etc). However they do fight and I'm not loving the thought of losing them both to school in the days this and next year *over protective mother alert*

There's 4 years difference between our oldest and Ozzie and I have had no issues with jealousy, infact quite the opposite. If I need to do something then she will sit and pass him his toys whilst I'm out the room to stop him missing me. She'll also tell me if he's been sick or something when I haven't seen. The only real downside is the schoolrun with a small baby. I feel like I'm dragging him out in all weathers sometimes and when he was about a month old I slipped and fell on the ice when I was just about to get him out the car and it worried me that I could have done that whilst holding him. I know you can slip anywhere but I wouldn't have been out in it if I hadn't had been up the school iykwim?

It's about weighing it up. We have a small and a bigger gap with ours and even I can't decide which is best

Yes, i suppose its impossible to know whether we will end up having another C Section and it would be extremely difficult with a toddler and a newborn.... i suppose you also have the other side though off having to do school runs etc with a newborn after Section as you cant drive etc. Very difficult!! I really hoping to start trying again early next year but it took us 9 months last time after miscarraige so i suppose it may be a bigger gap than you even plan.

Haha i have just looked at my little man who was happily boucing away in jumperoo and he is now fast asleep!!!

We had our first two boys 20mths apart and the great thing is they play so nicely . It was really hard in the begining but worth it now. Our third boy came five years later and I enjoy the gap because I get to spend time with him in the mornings when his brothers are at school, but I don't know who he will play with as he gets older Not planning on another although DH woud love a girl !

When i was in pregnant we were talking a lot when we would like to have a second one. Me, preferably soon, like 1-2 years between babies, but after first months we are getting thru right now we are like "no more!"
Honestly, deep inside i'd love to have second one soon as then they can be closer together (between me and my sis is 3 years and we've never been too friendly ) But i'm a bit scared how to manage with 2 if the second will be like Oliver (colics, reflux, fuzzines...) i could go crazy
so it's not easy to decide actually!
