8 week olds - how often do your 8 week old wake in the night?

are my expectations too high... just that i have 2 friends whose babies sleep longer and was wondering if zoe's sleep habits normal or abnormal.. lol

she sleeps from 8pm - 12am, then from 1am to 4am and then from 4.30am to 6am and then from 6.30am to 9am and does not nap for longer than 20 minutes at a time in the day.. with 3-4 naps a day..

just need to compare and see if i need to change anything.. i know all babies are different but just want to get an idea.

Lexi slept for 7-8 hours nonstop at 8 weeks, from around 2 to 9-10 am. I consider myself lucky!

Max sleeps just the same as your LO except he wakes up for the day at 6ish and doesn't have a nap until about 9.30 when he can go 2 hours. He naps on and off throughout the day. Sometimes half an hour but up to 2 hours if I go out. The rocking and noise soothe him

Owen sleeps from around 9-10pm untill 6am,feeds at 6am (ish) then goes back off for an hour or two. He has been doing that for about 2wks now i think. I think i have just been lucky, all babies are different hun, some take longer to go through the night than others do, your LO will do it in her own time,so dont worry, i know it's very hard getting up all the time, Owen used to go every 2hrs untill 6wksish then just one night slept right through.
Do you have a bed time routine with her?xx

thanks ladies. yes she has a bed time routine.. i am wondering if her cat naps are causing her to wake frequently...

it seems she is not sleeping thru like she should from the ladies responses and my friends babies... just dont know how to solve it... what time do you do a last feed for your babies for the night? Zoe has hers at 7.30pm.. maybe i should wake her for a later feed?

Also she snacks and never feeds for longer than 10 minutes at a time in day

Sorry chick but not all babies do sleep through. For some it can be months and months before they go longer. A routine or lack of routine often has no effect either. Your baby will make their own mind up to do it or not.

I'm desperate for Max to but knowing the above I am prepared for it not to happen

Agree - some babies take longer to sleep through.

Megan finally was going 3-4 hour stretch at night at 6 weeks (before then it was every 2). By 10 weeks she had a 6 hr stretch then the rest of the night was every 3 hrs approx. By 13 weeks would sometimes have a 8 hr stretch then sleep another 3. By 4 months she slept through a few nights then back to eating 1x in the night. She started sleeping through again a few nights ago.... but its hard to say even if it will last!

We have had a bedtime routine since 5 1/2 weeks and waking her later to feed before I went to bed always backfired on me You can try it .... but theres no guarantee that it will help anything. Megan's always napped when she needed during the day... if she didnt nap enough then her night wakings were worse.
