First period after a c section ?

hi have a quick question i had a c section nearly 8 weeks ago. I had stopped bleeding 2 weeks ago but this morning have found what appears to be a period. Have heard somewhere that it could just be the bleeding starting again, just wondered if any one else has expierenced this or if it is a period was yours heavy or light? many thanks

I got a bleed at week 7, and apparently this is quite common. Sometimes it can be a one-off, but I have since had a bleed again at week 11, so I think my periods are back for good :-/

I was hoping for a longer break from all that business, especially as I am exclusively breastfeeding, but guess it means we can start trying for another baby early :-)

They have been fairly light bleeds really, but dark in colour.

juat goggled it and it says on there that yes your first period is heavy and bright red and very very painful and can expect to soak through thick pads and you will need to change them every hour as long as it's not every 15 mins it is fine. Thank god thought something terrible was happening. Oh well looks like this is my period lol xx

Yup - first one was rotten and just as described. Tbh the second and third haven't been much better. Ugh. I did not miss them!!

If you are worried though you should check with your gp in case of retained placenta. You know your body and your pain best.

Xx

I stopped bleeding after 3-4 weeks after c section then got a period two weeks later and then another two weeks after again! They were horrific periods, heaviest ive ever had and was soaking tampons and towels every hour, next one was slightly better so hopefully will be back to normal by time next one comes
