Quiet Baby...

So am I just lucky? My baby is sOOOO quiet! He barely makes a peep. He rarely cries - and if he does - its just for the minute that it takes me to change him or get him nursing! The rest of the time he is content to just sit in his swing, stroller, or my arms.

Am I silly for thinking maybe he is too quiet? Is it possible a baby can be too quiet?

Hi hun, I know what you mean my dd was like this. She was 3 weeks early and had had a really rough delivery and we had spent a week in transitional care and she was very small. However, I found around the 6-8 week mark she really woke up and was awake for much longer periods and much more alert and hasn't stopped. She is now nearly 5 months and is a noisy little thing, but still very content and smiley. Your lo is still very young, give it time and enjoy it to get things done! LOL. x

My boy is 3 months and still an observer. He doesn't cry. He "talks" and smiles alot but rarely cries. Easily soothed by nursing his empty belly. He sleeps for hours on end, eats like a champ before and after naps. Enjoy the "quiet" ride. I've had several friends comment on how clean my house is all the time. I have alot of freedom because my little one just content without being stimulated by me 24/7

Brady was the exact same way for about 3 or 4 months. He's still pretty content, just LOUD!! He's very vocal and is always chattering away.

Zander hardly cries either, maybe just for feeding or when he is hungry, but he will sit happily for an hour plus and now of course he has found his voice he babbles but doesnt cry much, my daughter cried all the time, wether she had been fed or not or had a sleep or not! maybe its just girls lol

imogens a good baby too, she only crys now when she gets over tired but refuses to sleep (doesnt happen very often) or if she's hungry after a bath or swimming and getting dressed is just too much of a wait for her ha ha. shes never cried in the night for food ever, she just grunts and moves about. i'll get one that never stops crying next! i can just see it haha.

My boy is the same, unless he's hungry or tired he is very content to sit, watch, play, laugh! I think the more laid back you are the more they are too - you must be very chilled out as well!

I've been told by lots of people that I must've had a good pregnancy for him to be like this and tbh I did have a vey good pregnancy with him

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I thought my first son was a good baby until Dillon came along. Now I think my first was a big crybaby in comparison! He used to nurse constantly - every 2 hours - 24/7 - and he was a marathon nurser too - would nurse for 30-40 min at a time. He was always on the boob. This one nurses for 10 min then is good for 3-4 hours easy! Its throwing me for a loop!

And Mrs Dot - Glad you had a good pregnancy - but I don't think thats why you have a good baby. My pregnancy SUCKED with a capital S and was WAY stressful... and I still got a good baby out of it!
