I don't usually watch tv in the day, but sometimes I just run out if ideas of what to do with a 4 month old so I was wondering whether to occassionally put cbbies on for a short whle. does anyone else put the tv on for their 4 month old?
Summer's 3 months and I sometimes put her in front of television in the morning so I can tidy around the house, no longer than 20 minutes of something like that. Normally it's something on Playhouse Disney she watches. I don't see a problem with it as long as it's not for hours.xx
my little girl likes 'her programmes' on and if little one is in the room then i guess he can watch if he wants but to be honest the only time he ever turns his head to the tv is when the go compare advert comes on or the churchill advert! i dont plank him infornt of the tv ie in his bouncy chair or walkie
do you not have some toys that they can play with? I dont think they will actually pay attention to whats goin on just maybe like the flashing of different colours etc. Cant see why it would be a problem for short periods, have you tried a walker or baby bouncer..they can entertain for hours ! x
I let Lucas have 20 mins or so of Baby Tv usually after his tea, before his bath as it keeps him still and stops him being sick and he loves Pitch and Potch and Tucky Tales. It also has lots of good songs on there too. I dont see the harm as I play with him loads and he spends time on the floor, in his door bouncer, leapfrog learn and groove, out and about in the pram most days if the weather permits so he gets loads of variation. It too allows a bit of mad tidying and getting adult tea ready and his bath etc. x
LO does have playmat, toys, swing etc, but sometimes I just need a bit of a break from interacting with them so I can do a few jobs as they won't always nap well. When they do though it gives me that break needed to get things done.
we genraly have cebeebies on quietly in the background all day but he very rarly pays any attention to it he probrably watches about an hour a day (split into 10 min intervals). i dont think it will do him any harm at all as long as they dont watch it all day, and if it helps your sainity then its a blessing! (youd be amazed how much i can get done in the 10 miniuts hes watching timmie time!)
