Going to Turkey in 3 weeks :) advice pls

Im off to Turkey in 3 weeks time Its the 1st time were flying with Finnley... has anyone been to Turkey before?

Were going all inclusive, so not banking on going out of the resort much, so going to be taking pretty much everything with us. Were planning on picking up his milk at the airport (were going to use steri bottles and cartons for the week), but what about things like nappies and juice? Has anyone bought these through security instead of packing them in your case?

Is there any type of water that they can drink out in Turkey? He'll be just about 8 months... Cn he have boiled tap water... or any type of bottled water? Or shall I just take a couple of bottles of baby juice with us for the week and give him that?

What about hand luggage on the plane... can you take things like calpol, teething gel, sudocream etc? And as were taking cartons of milk, can we take a small pair of scissors to open them? I cant see getting them open a problem on the plane, but once we land and get on out transfer, we'll need them then.

Also, Im a bit worried about how he's gunna be. Our flight is about 5.30pm... half hour before his bedtime, so I know hes gunna be really restless. Hes not good when he's tired, and its not easy to get him to sleep on you

I dont know what the time difference is over there... has this affected any babies?

Sorry for all the questions, Im sure they'll be more

x

i took my youngest to majorca when he was about 9 mths old (hes now 6) i took the packet food that u mixed with water as it was smaller for the case i did take nappies if i remember rightly i lined my case with them to save room at most airports tho u will have a boots on airside so u can always pick up another bag there, i went all inclusive to turkey last yr and it was really nice we had a mini bar in our room witch they stocked up daily not that we used it much but it was stocked up with bottled water, i would put all ur medicenes in ur case i dont think they will allow them as hand luggage...i hope this helps a little have a fantastic holiday..

We are just back from holiday in Majorca - it was fab!!!!

Do take EVERYTHING with you - well, I was glad I had!!! Nappies, wipes, swimnappies, milk, some jars/puddings etc. A pack of huggies swim nappies were 18euro!!!( about £15 and I paid just £3 here) a jar of the Hipp food was 3euro (about £2.50!!!) and cartons of milk were 1.80 euro - maybe its cheaper in turkey - but I have heard its getting just as expensive as elsewhere so if you can take everything you need if you have the weight allowance to.

We took 3 cartons on board and 3 bottles. They made us open 1 carton and taste it at security - we transfered rest to an empty bottle and Anna took it at take off - its good if they have a feed or suck a dummy at take off to help blocked ears.

I packed all nappies&wipes in suitcase except for just a few for the journey. Generally an infant does not get a carry on allowance it needs to go in your handbaggage allowance.

I wouldnt drink the tap water abroad so used bottled water - cheap to buy anyway.

Yes, you can take on all the medicines, calpol, gel etc. Scissors for opening cartons need to go in hold baggage, but if you have a front pocket on your case that would be handy to get into.

Anna took her milk at take off and slept the rest of the way! It was great!

Hope you have a great time!!

me & my OH have been to Turkey and it was absolutely lovely we went at the end of Sept and the weather was gorgeous, still very hot though so make sure you pack plenty of sun cream!

went on holiday with my dad & baby sister earlier this year, and they only let us take liquids that were in 100ml bottles (in hand luggage), even things like calpol had to be in 100ml bottles so i'd check with your airline/airport before you go just to be on the safe side

hope you have a lovely time x

we went all inclusive to turkey a couple of weeks ago. she drank the bottles water the resort had, tbh i wouldnt give him tapwater not even boiled. bottled water is safest it hink my HV told me as long as it doesnt have a high sodium content its perfectly fine.
i would recommend you take everything with you tho, dont bank on beng able to buy anything there, although you probs could it is expensive and we took everything and it was easy and had no probs.
My LO doesnt sleep on us either normally but she coped really well on the flight, try not to worry bout it and just take it as it comes. he will surprise you i bet!
you wont be able to take scissors on the plane but you probs would be able to put them in your suitcase in the hold. but i find i can rip the cartons open easy enough.
we didnt fine any problem with the time differnce, turkey is 2 hours ahead, and they just adapt so easily.

LO really surprised us, she is not an easy baby but she was a little star.
enjoy
