Bronchitis linked to my smoking

Hi all,

I brought Brandon to the doctor cos he has a cough and I wanted to try catch it before it got on his chest. The doctor checked him out and told me he had bronchitis. He asked me if we smoked around him and I told him that there is a strict ban on smoking in the house and that if we want a smoke we go outside. He then told me that even though we went out side to smoke the effect of smoking are still on our clothes so even though we don't smoke around Brandon we are still harming him with our clothes.I feel terrible. I just was to burst out in tears . I am now giving up and I know I can do it. I know I was so selfish for not giving up smoking during my pregnancy but I just didn't have the will power. This time will be different. I feel so guilty

Of course you can do it hon. Anytime you want one just look at your little boy, think about how you feel right this minute and that can spur you on.

good luck - no point feeling bad about what is done as you can't control the past - you CAN control the future. Xxx

as others said he may have gotten in anyway but im sorry to say i doubt the smoking helped

i found it too hard to quit when i was pregnant, i quit a couple of times and ended up smoking again. then i quit when he was born but 2 months later started smoking again

at the end of last year i sat myself down looked at all the health stuff, money stuff etc gave myself a real shock. i bought my last cigarettes and smoked them new years eve

i woke up on new year fresh start cold turkey

and never smoked since!

well.......

i've had a cigarette when stressed about twice i think but never gone back to smoking!

you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't blame yourself too much. I had bronchitis and I didn't smoke. I think the doc was trying to scare you into giving up.
Well done on trying to give up. I stopped smoking years ago and can't imagine doing it again, I'm such an anti-smoker now!
I think you have the best incentive to stop. One of the reasons I stopped was that I didn't want the kids to see me smoking and it really spurred me on.
Make sure the doc gives you all the help and support you need. I've heard the tablets work really well but I have to say all the people I know who stopped for good stopped using just sheer willpower. Good luck x
