Im so confused OH and I were planning a skiing trip we've been wanting to go since last year but I got pregnant. I'm now worried I'm pregnant again. Every time I go to the loo I check for blood half hoping half dreading usually more dreading. I'd be over the moon if I was pregnant again we TTCed for so long, at the same time I want to go skiing!!! I would never forgive myself if anything happens but I can't not go! It'll drive me nuts! I know my dr will say no she said no last year but what if I wait until I'm 12 weeks and we're going in the off season and I'm a pretty good skier! Ugh I'm kind of worried about te altitude more than the skiing,,, I can't see OH wanting me to go either but he was so looking forward to it. I wish I could just take a HPT and get rid of all the anguish and either cry because I'm not pregnant and go nuts because I am. OH is away on business and i don't want to do it when he away *gah* I've read online of women who've skied when pregnant I'm sure that God willing I'll be ok but omg this is driving me nuts. It doesn't help that OH said we should wait before trying again and I convince him we'd be fine.. Deep down though I knew I'd get pregnant quickly I think it's because I'm at a normal weight now I always blamed my weight for my fertility issues,,, i can't make up my mind if I'm not pregnant I'll de devastated too,,, I'm sorry this has gone on forever for anyone who's got this far thank you for listening I feel less fuzzy already..
I'm surprised your doctor said no last time! Mine would have said go skiing. You aren't gonna hurt an embryo skiing. Now if you were further along it would be a different story. Personally I'd go. Good luck with your decision.
skiing i have no idea about im afraid. But the only way your gunna know if your pregnant is to test. But whats another year waiting to go skiing if your gunna have another baby? To me a baby is more important than a skiing trip. Is a skiing trip really more important to you? Obviously if you are pregnant and a doctor says you can go, then id go. But i wouldnt get upset if i couldnt go. Good luck with everything, i hope you get the result you want, and let us know if its a BFN or BFP xx
Skiing is really not recommended during pregnancy as it's considered a " high impact" sport. You may be a good skier but you need to also be aware of other skiers who aren't any good and may slam into you. I was pregnant last ski season and it sucked but honestly it's just not worth the risk. I have a friend who is a really good skier and when she was 5 months along got hit by a snowboarder. It totally scared her and she stopped after that. Fortunately her baby was fine but you just never know. I also don't think any doctor would or should say it's ok to go.
A test would answer it either way. I don't know much about these things, but couldn't you go skiing but not ski? I'm thinking hot chocolate, walks around quaint little towns... But then again I have absolutley no idea about skiing!!
Thank you everyone for your advise I took a HPT today and it was negative am pretty gutted to be honest am actually on the way out for some retail therapy ;p but hey at least it means I can go skiing this season ^.^
