weaning helping reflux??

Hello....
So, not wanting to start a weaning debate here but my LO who is 16 weeks has terrible reflux and has been on 5 different milks now due to suspected allergies blah blah blah...
Long story short, now on SMA staydown which hasn't cured the vomit (she still throws up like no tomorrow) BUT her vomit is no longer acidic, it doesn't reek of acid and she is happy. I can therefore cope with the puke

My HV suggested I wean her at 17 weeks to help with the vomit?
I am not convinced (and no way will I be doing it at 17 weeks even if it will help) but is there any truth in it?
I was just going to let her decide when she wants to eat my dinner or snatches her brothers biscuits off him (at least 6mths anyway).
Interested in your opinions / experiences on this one please

my neice had horrendous reflux and it went after she was weaned. x

thank you.... it is good to hear that it helps.
I am not dead against it, I will if there is enough to sway me consider at late 5mths / early 6mths but I can't imagine feeding a 17 week old and mine even has good head control!!

sophie has reflux and i started weaning about 3 weeks ago. It hasnt helped yet, but she is still on the same amount of milk feeds.
Be warned though - carrot or sweet potato + milk feeds + reflux = a major orange sicky mess!
I have been told that once she is on solids properly, it will get better.

Oh, my doc advised me to wean early btw

forgot to say, certain foods can make it worse at first (fruit purees I've found are a nightmare)
