Formula made my baby sick any advice?

I don't know if anyone can give any advice. My lo is 4 1/2 months she is breastfed and in the past I have given her a small amount of aptimil formula from the cartons. Probably done it twice. About 1 month ago we gag her 5 oz of formula before bed winded her she went to sleep about 7 and at 10.30 was violently sick. She went really pale and was heaving and still vomiting for an hour later. We called Nhs direct and out of hours doctor called as I was worried she would dehydrate. Gave her some water and she went to sleep and was fine the next day. I thought she may hav picked up a bug or we hadn't sterilised the bottles properly. Anyway tonight we gave her 5 oz as I was going out and hadn't manage to express enough and to be honest need to start getting her on formula as I will be going back to work after Christmas. And tonight the same thing happened violently sick over dh.

Has this happened to anyone else. Not sure if it is the milk or whether it's too rich and she is t used to it. Not sure what to do as she will need to go onto formula at some point!

Any advice would be greatly recede thank you x

I dont have much advice but I do know that formula is thicker then BM so maybe it just sat in her stomach and didnt digest like her body is use to? Or maybe it was the type of formula. We went through 5 different kinds before finding one that worked for Nolan. I hope she is feeling better soon!

If you all of a sudden introduce something new, her digestive system can't handle it because it's harder on her stomach. You have to slowly introduce the formula if that's the route you are wanting to take...and slowly wean her onto it.

That happened to my little man as well about 3 months ago - my supply was extremely low due to my period starting and so we gave him some formula, he was good for about an hour and then he just started throwing up - he threw up 4x in an hour, and then threw up bile.. he was very clammy and sleepy and it took a few feeds of BM and him throwing it back up before he was okay and then he slept most of the night. Haven't tried again since.. it scared the crap out of me.
