Lyra has been awake for 6 hours and is now in a right state, she won't stop crying and won't drop off she keeps almost going to sleep and then waking up again. I've tried swaddling her, the dummy, walking with her, feeding her to sleep but nothing is working.
Try swaddling and then rocking her in the pram, that sometimes works with Leni. Sometimes they need to be layed down and rocked. Are you breastfeeding? If you are swaddle baby and feed her on your side. This also works for me sometimes.
my lo was in a right state yesterday! and like you tried feeding etc, so i calmed her down by playing with her, strange as that sounds.
i held her up facing me, talked, laughed and slowly she calmed down. then i put her to the breast and she fed and later put to bed and fell asleep.
when finn is over tired (or jus plain tired) i stroke his nose... it literally never fails! or i put him in his car seat nd go for a drive... he's never been awake for an entire car journey in his entire short life.
When Savannah gets over tired i hold her close to me and dance to Cheryl Cole fight for this love she loves that song always calms her down as she nods off i slowly stop dancing and and turn the music down...
Ahhhh, I feel for you! My LO was exactly the same yesterday. She woke after 15 mins after a walk in the pram but I found that having a feed and then a cuddle on me worked for her! She was the same, so overtired that she didn't know what she wanted!
Is she in the midst of her three week growth spurt? Our DS was a nightmare during his! We did the whole dummy/swaddle/shh thing. DH took him for a drive up the motorway which worked to get me an hours sleep if nothing else! It was over in a day or so. Hope your LO settles soon.
I hold Fin tight against me in a sort of cradle hold but with his body more turned into mine. I rock, shhh and pat his bum. He screams through it and it's not nice in your ear but it does calm his down eventually xx
