10 months old head bobbing

We've only noticed it in the last few days, but LO seems to do a massive head nod every now and then, bigger than I could demonstrate as it looks like it should hurt but clearly doesn't.
I googled it (duh!) and found someone else who'd described it as if you were driving and started to fall asleep, and then jerked yourself awake, and that's pretty accurate.
It doesn't appear to bother him, and isn't restricted to when he's tired/hungry/bored etc.
He's got a doc appointment on Tuesday anyway, so will ask the nurse then, but just wondering if anyone had any experience?

I'm sure OH would be delighted if it was due to one of the toys! Looks more like a tic though, so maybe he shouldn't do it at too many gigs in the future!
