Pea size lump behind ear?

Hello! Does anyone else have this? My son has a pea sized squidgy lump just on his head by his ear. I *think* it's a lymph node, but just wanna see how common it is. We're gonna take our son to docs about it anyway I think as it's been raised for quite some time now and although he has been poorly, his cold has completely gone so don't think he's fighting an infection all this time!

Anyway would appreciate some views please x

Hmm no idea as LO doesn't have this but I think you're right to be ubercautious about any kind of lump, I know I would be. I hope the doc can rule it out as someting harmless!

Frankie had this a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I found it on a baby clinic day and the HV said it was just his glands, so pretty much what you already said. She said it was a good sign that his immune system was working well.

If I were you I would take LO to docs/HV just to be on the safe side. x

Yep, my LO has this too. I mentioned it to the HV who didn't appear to be concerned. I am going to mention it again at the clinic on Wednesday though. x

Yeah I mentioned them to both my GP and HV who said they are glands and nothing at all to worry about

Holly had this a lot when she was tiny (and still does now if she's under the weather).

My doc said if the lump is moveable and doesn't cause them any pain when you touch it, it's a lymph node and a totally normal sign of their body fighting something.

But with lumps, if you are ever in doubt or feel uneasy about it, go get it checked. For your own peace of mind - lord knows we have enough to worry about as mums!

Thanks so much, we're definitely gonna take him to the docs, but I just needed someone to tell me that he's not the only one like it! I found something on Dr Google (!) that said it could indicate leukaemia so I panicked a bit!

My son had the same thing. It was after he was getting over a cold that I noticed them. when I took him to the dr she said the same that it was a lymph node and they swell up when the body is fighting an infection/cold. She also made me feel in the bikini area and said to feel them there as well so that I would not worry.
