Christening Dress Code?

what dress code is generally accepted at christenings?
we've been invited to a friend's baby's christening this sunday and i have no idea what we'll all wear!!
Is my OH okay in smart trousers and a shirt? Or does he need to be in a tie? Or a full suit?
and Jake, i'll probably put him in something smart-ish but i want him to be comfortable too!
Then there's me, aaah! I'll defo need something new, but what? Am i right to think i need to stay away from anything black?

i agree smart but not wedding smart, nice top and trouser set for you would even work, and i dont think hubby would need a tie unless he really wants

DH and Frankie's grandfathers and godfathers wore a suit for Frankie's christening, but it was special for them. Other male guests wore smart trousers and shirts. Smart but not too smart. x

If you want to have a peek through Lucy's blessing photos (pretty much the same as a christening and took place in a church) I'll add you on facebook and you can see what people are wearing lol
