Might sound odd, but I think I'd like to adopt.

Not right now, obviously, as it would be completely impractical. But when Scarlett's bigger, I'd like to have another baby, but I think I've done as much pregnancy and childbirth as I'd like to! There are so many unwanted babies born, I think I'd just like to adopt one day
Random, I know. But I'm tired. And Cuddy just adopted a baby on House

Me too. I would like to adopt an older child but OH isn't persuaded. There are so many older children in care that need to be adopted. Everyone scoops up the little blue-eyed newborns (sorry, but this is a reality of adoption) and nobody has an interest in the children with developmental/mental issues and/or are older (ie, 3-5 etc). I hope to open OH's mind and heart one day

I agree. Especially when what starts as a relatively manageable issue escalates into a worse one because a child's been in and out of foster care their whole life and then is left to fend for themselves when they turn 16.
All children deserve to be loved and nurtured, no matter what their age.

I agree, my OH was 8 when he was adopted, however his adoptive parents told him they only wanted him for his baby brother, as they came together I think it would be lovely to adopt, so many children crying out for love and a home xxxx

IDK I have no idea why they adopted as they've never been there for him. Feel really sorry for him, thankfully we dont have much to do with them- they never bother with my kids etc! xxx

I think it would be nice too, I wouldn't do it though, I like the pregnancy part and I only want one more anyway! I think if I won the lottery or something (so me and OH never had to work again) I would be the type to adopt older teenage kids and help them through school and into good lives =)

I admire people who adopt. It's definitely something I'd consider, perhaps not right now, but maybe when Poppy is a little older and our finances could cope with another child, and when we feel we are in a position to give an adopted child everything he or she needs (financially, emotionally etc). I do worry though, as I'd want to love an adopted child as much as I love Poppy, and as I've never done it before, I can't understand how I will feel. I'd like to think that It wouldn't be any different but I'm so scared it would be....

I get really sad when I think of all those children who just need the love, security and stability of parents and a family. One day maybe.

I'd love to adopt one day. A family member is in the process of adopting a baby from Russia and we were talking about the children there that are in orphanages - it breaks my heart to think of it. I look at my LO and imagine how terrible it would be if she was in an orphanage with nobody to love her...

^^ WSS

I would like to adopt, have considered it quite seriously for sometime in the future but I'm really worried about them being loved, and accepted, by our extended family and ourselves as much as Aiden. I'm also concerned about that though if we had another natural child, since my family treated my sister and myself quite drastically different so its a bit of a hot topic for me.

I don't want to be pregnant again, or childbirth (who does!), but I do like the idea of having another child. Got quite a while to consider it thankfully
