I just stayed in a hospital gown until it was time to go home and I got dressed. A dress or skirt is much easier than pants also. They took my catheter out about 12 hours after my emergency c-section. Good luck!

One thing that might be obvious to some, make sure your emmhumm, 'well groomed' down there!! One of the most embaressing things for me was the midwife having to shave me! They do cut really low and my scar is right in my hairline!!

Hi there
Make sure you have lots of pillows at home to prop you up in bed - I couldn't get up from a laying down position for a while.
Best of luck x

Haha well groomed! Yep I think I'd rather Trim myself up than leave it to someone else! I've heard about the windypops as well, has anyone tried peppermint tea and did it work?I'm diabetic so thankfully I won't be eating much hospital food! Hopefully Ill be able to get my bowels functioning after!
Thanks for all the advice

I agree with everything louppy said

Also, clean your wound a few times a day & dry it with a towel & then let the air get to it as much as you can. Keeping it clean & dry is good for avoiding infections.

Best of luck!

Oh yes I trimmed myself too! Funny that we are just about to get seen fully naked by around 10 people in theatre, yet I'd rather clean up my own private area ha ha xxx
Slippers are a great idea, keep your hair off your face, some cooling spray. I lived in leggings & big pants afterwards for a while as they hold your belly in!
They left me in a gown til the next morning, just giving me a wee bed bath at night. Had my catheter taken out around 24 hours after the op then showered. You will feel a million times better after a shower & hair wash!
You will be in a little pain but the more you move, the less it hurts! I was back to doing housework, walking etc after a couple of days xxx

Ooh yes, agree with the more you move the better it is! I could have smacked the midwife when she made me get up & walk around (lol) but it does help

Big pants, socks.

Take a spare stock of Parcetomal, i did as the MW were really busy.

Over the bump trousers.

Eat lots of fruit and veg as you get really bunged up after the op.

One of the mw at the hosital suggested I tuck a maternity pad into the front of my knickers across my scar just to protect it from getting knocked or bumped. Great idea that I never would have thought of!

Good luck Hun

Don't be afraid to buzz the midwives to help get you out of bed/get baby for you. Take everything very slowly - remember that you've had a major op so get your oh to look after you and care for you.

And MILK IT!!!!!! After a couple of weeks everyone stops running around for you so even if you're feeling ok, get everyone else to do as much as you can get away with lol
