Iv never used baby talk with my children. Iv always spoke to them as I would with an adult and have conversations with them from day one even tho they can't answer. I read with them everyday and use flash cards with my 3 and half year old. I wouldn't use tv to teach my children as I enjoy doing it. My ds was talking recognisable words at 8months and can now read a short book and write certain letters and some words. I started to teach her to read and write from the age of 2 and half with fun games. The reason we did It so young because my daughter enjoys it and asks me to help her write and to read to her. If she had her way we would be reading all day
