Never co sleep if one of you smokes.
I find if i sleep in a c shape so left arm under pillow and the other just out infront near alfie so i dont roll and my legs bent just under him.

Alfie hated his basket too at your LO's age so ive not really got many suggestions. We just used to settle him on us wait 20 minutes until he was in a deep sleep and then attempt to pop him in lol but it never really worked hope someones got better tips for you on that one

sorry im not picking on you, but what i dont get is why you cant co-sleep if you or OH smokes?
ive read it absolutely everywhere that this is a no no...
but no where actually says why? even if you only have 1 cigarette a day first thing in the morning? which i did at early stages of pregnancy then stopped.. but what if i carried on? would it of killed LO if we co-sleeped while i still smoked?

it just doesnt make sense that they make this 'rule' yet dont explain themselves

so basically my question is.. why cant you co-sleep if you smoke? do you know why?
ive just done a quick google search & found nothing

sorry OP i dont mean to steal your thread!

We don't co-sleep but we cuddle and pat our lo to sleep, then put her in her basket when she is asleep. Maybe that would work?

Like you i am never happy with instructions on what to do without all the info. We dont smoke but i still wanted to know why and couldnt find any info.

I just assume it is because of passive smoking and carcinogens on clothes after smoking. If you go near someone who has just smoked the air is stifling. Probably worse for a baby and wouldn't help their breathing.

OP-so glad your LO is home. An apnoea monitor to fit on the nappy may help relieve your fears somewhat.

It took two months for our LO to like the moses basket. We still closleep sometimes now if LO gets up in the night or if she is teething badly. She sleeps inbetween us on a cosleeper mattress which has buttresses on either side, and on top of the duvet. Our room gets very warm so we dont use any blankets over her. Her head is at my boob level so i can keep her away form our pillows.

I have LO in a bed side cot. Its a small 3 sided cot which clicks on to the side of my bed so we co-sleep without her actually being right on my bed. She settles at night on my chest, I then gently transfer her over and I sometimes just breastfeed her on my side while she's in her cot too.

I do the same with our LO, forgot to say my OH smokes too.

MW tried to scare me saying the carbon monoxide from second hand smoking off OH would be in the baby at my 12 week checkup so i did the carbon monoxide test (looks like a breathaliser) and came back as zero, shows what she knew!
