Is there a huge difference in cost of having three kids compared to two?

I have always said that two kids would be enough as that way they could have their own bedroom (share if we wanted to have a spare room) and we could have a 'normal' car and go on holilday without having to pay any additional supplements.

My husband has always wanted to have four kids and I think that I may want one more (making it three in total) but I don't know if I am being silly.

Is there a big difference between the cost of raising two kids compared to three?

We didn't notice the difference much, but we did have them close together, and had all girls, so that would've made a difference! xx

We are wondering the same. It would mean two having to share a room unless one day we can afford an extension, but I don't think that is the end of the world. holidays would be more expensive but we can't afford to go on them anyway so we wouldn't be missing out there! I am not sure whether we would need a new car, guess it depends on the age gap and which type of seat they are all in. I am more worried about being able to give them each enough attention if we gave three, rather than the actual cost.

Ha we are actually thinking about this too. We have 1 of each and hubby planned on getting snipped but lately has been making references to having another one!! I thinkas babies there isn't too much difference but when they get older school costs, food and housing (4 bedroom house vs 3) is where i think it would add up. And holidays lol

You know what I have found to be most expensive...and it's only with the older two and recently. Not clothes, not school supplies, not the house...but activities! Swimming EACH $100/month. Sparks $100 Cub Scouts $100 CHILDCARE...anywhere from $600/mth (part time) to $1800 (full-time) for all three (before and after school and all day infant care). If Makena wants to do ballet...that's an additional $100/mth and Jasper's hockey $600/season. Kelana's swim lessons...$40 mth. The car...we have to get anotehr, but it's not a super big deal. We can actually get one bigger that's cheaper. House...we make do...they don't have all their own rooms.

It would mean a larger house for us

I suppose in the early years it is not expensive (if you have kept all your baby equipment/toys/pushchairs, etc. But once they are older i bet it gets extortionate!

For me i would say yes we have had to move to a bigger house we are gonna need to buy a bigger car. We've had to buy everything new because i was stopping at 2 so got rid of everything. Lucky for us moving was so easy thanks to our wonderfull landlord and only increased our rent by 100. I've loved shopping for new things and now we have a boy i love shopping for new clothes all the time......my favorite thing to do
