Darn I was so much looking forward to being careless and dropping her. I mean we removed the carpets in the house so the fall would hurt even more on the wooden floors. Oh and thank goodness you reminded me to not leave her sitting in her vibrating seat and turn my back. Gee I guess she might turn into the incredible hulk baby and break out of her restraints and launch out. What would I have done without your words of wisdom. I mean so what if she can't hold firmly onto a toy yet, she might have the manual dexterity and coordination to unbuckle those clips holding her down and climb out at 3 months old.

MIL: Well hooray hooray, you are waiting for the lady across the street from us to move so you can move in there and come visit us every day. Gee that would make my life complete to see your blotchy face every day. Oh and as if that isn't close enough you are asking again to go on vacation with us again. Trust me it'll be a cold day in hell before I go on vacation with your dumb ass.

MIL: Thank you for continuously telling my that the gum ridge on the roof of LO's mouth are actually teeth. you are an idiot. You actually wasted yout time photoshopping in an arrow into a picture of LO smiling pointing to her gums saying that her gums are actually teeth. You even posted this on facebook. God you are a moron. I told you she has no teeth, but somehow you see them in her mouth. WTF?

MIL: You have told me your life plan now. You said you will retire and move across the street from us, and then when LO starts school, you will get a job in every school she goes to so you can watch over her like some stalker. You are Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs lady.

Lastly (for now) MIL: I truly wish you'd stop sending food you make our way as a gift. Yeah you mean well, so I have a soft spot for that, but that last mysterious frozen entree you left us tasted like acidic buttholes.

MIL: You will never know how much I can't stand you. This is because I want my daughter to grow up in a drama free family. I will always pretend we are best friends, so LO has a happy family unit. Looks like I'll just have to grin and bear it and just talk shit about you on BnB.
LOL! I read this to OH... we were both laughing so hard.. you're so funny...
AND.. you have my sympathy.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I am guessing this is the first grandbaby?

We went to eat dinner tonight at a little family owned restaurant by our house and I had LO in his carseat and I had the carseat on the table so he could see DH and I. It was a 5 top large table, and only DH and I were seated so there was ample room for the carseat on top. He was no where NEAR the edge of the table. Nor was he ever in any imminent danger of falling off the table. Yet that didn't stop some old bag from coming over and telling me a story about a baby that rocked himself in a carrier and plunged to the floor harming himself and that I better not leave him on the table like that.

It was all I could do not to tell her to STFU.

lol @ 'acidic buttholess'

I brought my MIL along on vacation.. it would have been fine except she invited herself to be in the same car as us... a 6 hour drive turned into a 9 hour one because of her and she drove me INSANE. It was my 30th birthday and we were going to Vegas though so I really wanted to do it.

I can relate to SO much of what you're saying. I used to wash Daniel off after her visits because I hated the fact that she kissed him all over his face. I didn't mind anyone else but her.
But thats because I feel like she secretly wants to steal my baby.. she makes lots of jokes about taking him with her. When I was pregnant and she got wistful seeing a baby in a stroller and said she wanted one, I told her she'd get to see my son and play with him and she said she wanted one of her own
She thinks she knows what he's thinking, thinks he's talking already, thinks the sun shines out of his ass basically.

clarealfie- one of my inlaws who never used to bug me drove me INSANE while pregnant.. strangely, she's my favorite inlaw now.. mostly because she respects my space, even sympathizes with my 2nd-guessing my plans to have more than one child. She even told off her husband for going to the hospital when I was in labor when we'd told everyone NOT to. So basically, it MIGHT just be pregnancy hormones, lol. But start laying groundrules NOW.. if you don't want anyone at the hospital, make that VERY clear (my MIL popped into the delivery room even though we'd told her not to come, she snuck in to give me some flowers, it was such disrespect of my wishes I'm still kind of resentful).. if you don't want visitors for the first few weeks or want to limit visits to 20minutes, tell them now! If you need help doing chores only, not baby watching at first, prepare them for that now! Trust me, trying to fight these battles when you've got the emotional shit-storm of post-labor hormones is NOT fun.

I do think some of this reaction to MILs is a biological urge to protect and claim our young. When we feel someone encroaching on our territory it raises our hackles. Like a dog protecting her litter of pups etc.

Today's update:

MIL- LO is so cute, and to think she belongs all to me!
DH- Ummm actually LO belongs to us (pointing to himself and me)
MIL- No LO belongs to me just as much as you, I just don't have to change diapers at night

My thought : I don't think so woman. LO belongs to me and I still think your cooking is crap. The most recent example? You made a pie with no crust. The crust is the best part dummy. Oh and that "apple jam" you made had the consistency of alien snot and my toast broke apart when I tried to spread it on there. You could use that junk as spackle on the international space station and it would hold.

Oh and you mentioned again in my DH's birthday card that you wanna know when we are going on vacation so you can come. Seriously?

Umm....no. A court of law would not agree actually. My mother actually did ^^^this to me and I have to admit, it annoyed the shit out of me. Mom and I had a chat about it and she doesn't say that to me anymore... apparently your MIL is a bit of a slow learner.

Sorry you're having to still put up with her horseshit.
